2009 translates in Roman numerals to “MMIX.” It only happens once, so Mimix Broadband celebrated by declaring 2009... the Year of MMIX. During the year, we highlighted key advances in our product portfolio while paying tribute to other engineering feats – specifically the Seven Wonders of the Modern World as chosen by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

As a tribute to modern society's ability to achieve the unachievable, reach unreachable heights, and scorn the notion of "it can't be done," in 1994 the American Society of Civil Engineers sought nominations from across the globe for the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
