Broadband, Inc. Introduces 11 to 20 GHz Packaged Driver Amplifier
Single Power Supply Driver Amplifier Offers On-Chip ESD Protection
October
26, 2005, Houston, Texas - Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces
today a Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) three stage driver amplifier with
a self-biased, single supply design. Using 0.25 um optical etch-stop
pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) device model
technology, this driver amplifier, identified as CMM1118, covers
the 11 to 20 GHz frequency bands. The CMM1118 provides 20 dB gain
and delivers 14 dBm P1dB.
With on-chip ESD protection, the CMM1118 is assembled in a low
cost, surface mount 3mm x 3mm QFN package. The 16 terminal plastic
package is also lead-free. The device is well suited for wireless
communications applications such as millimeter-wave point-to-point
radio, local multipoint distribution services (LMDS) and SATCOM.
"This low cost buffer amplifier is designed to fit almost
any Ku-band application where high performance, space saving, cost
sensitivity and time-to-market are crucial. The CMM1118 offers 20
dB of wideband gain in a 3x3mm, plastic QFN package and eliminates
the need for a negative supply and external matching," stated
Damian McCann, Vice President, Product Development of Mimix Broadband,
Inc. "For our VSAT and multi-point customers, the CMM1118 complements
perfectly our range of surface mount Ku-band power amplifiers."
Engineering samples are available today from stock. Technical support
is also available from Mimix's applications engineers at 281.988.4600.
The CMM1118 datasheet and additional product information can be
obtained from the Mimix Broadband website at www.mimixbroadband.com.
