Mimix Broadband Appoints Erik van der Kaay to Board of Directors

An Experienced Executive, Mr. van der Kaay Brings Extensive Telecommunications Expertise to the Mimix Team

November 4, 2003, Houston, Texas - Mimix Broadband, Inc., a leading developer of monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) for wireless communications applications, announced today that its shareholders have elected Erik van der Kaay to its Board of Directors. Mr. van der Kaay is past President and CEO of Datum Inc., a leading supplier of high performance time and frequency products used to synchronize the flow of information in telecommunications networks. In May 2002, Datum Inc. merged with Symmetricom, Inc., and Mr. van der Kaay became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Symmetricom.

Prior to Datum, Mr. van der Kaay served as Executive Vice President of Allen Telecom Inc., a leading supplier of telecommunications systems equipment. He has also worked for several telecommunications and equipment companies including Avantek Inc. in Fremont, California and M/A-COM Inc. in Burlington, Massachusetts. Mr. van der Kaay currently sits on the boards of RF Micro Devices, TranSwitch Corporation and COMARCO Inc.

Mr. van der Kaay has an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics from Concordia University in Montreal and performed postgraduate studies at Bucknell University and Northeastern University. He completed the senior executive program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan Business School.
