Mimix Broadband, Inc. Introduces 0.5 to 18 GHz GaAs pHEMT MMIC SPDT Switch

Small FET Monolithic Switch Offers Fast Switching Speeds at Low Power Consumption Requirements

January 30, 2007, Houston, Texas - Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces today a gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, the CSW0118-BD. Using 0.5 micron gate length GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) device model technology, this switch covers the 0.5 to 18 GHz frequency bands, and achieves 1.8 dB insertion loss and 35 dB isolation.
The device also has a P1dB of 20 dBm and 2 nsec rise/fall time. The CSW0118-BD is ideal for radar, communications, avionics and test/measurement applications. The backside is gold plated, making the device compatible with either eutectic or conductive epoxy die attach and either thermocompression or thermosonic wire bonding.

Mimix performs 100% DC testing with sample RF evaluation on the CSW0118-BD, as well as 100% visual inspection to MIL-STD-883 method 2010. The chip also has surface passivation to protect and provide rugged parts with backside via holes and gold metallization to allow either a conductive epoxy or eutectic solder die attach process.
