Mimix Broadband Announces Its Board of Directors Elected Dr. Charles
Lee as Chairman of the Board
A Strong and Accomplished Leader, Dr. Lee Brings Extensive Experience to
the Mimix Team
March 20, 2001, Houston, Texas Mimix Broadband announced
today that its Board of Directors has elected Dr. Charles Lee as Chairman
of the Board, effective immediately. The election of Dr. Lee to Chairman
represents a new position created by the Board, which further demonstrates
the breadth of commitment and resources focused on the success of Mimix
Broadband in becoming the preeminent supplier of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs)
monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) to the broadband wireless
access market.
Dr. Lee founded Charles Lee Enterprise in 1990 to facilitate strategic
alliances between America and Asia. He was also Managing Partner of Abacus
Ventures which he co-founded in 1985. The fund focused on telecommunications
and related information industry start-up venture investments. Dr. Lee
was on the board of several portfolio companies including Pliant Systems
(PLNS), TranSwitch (TXCC), and Overseas Telecommunications Inc. (OTI) among
others.

Dr. Lee was also a founding partner of Lee & Satterlee Associates,
a hi-tech venture investment service firm. He was previously associated
with Xerox Development Corporation and Exxon Enterprises in venture investments
and corporate development and was instrumental in organizing the first
successful integrated voice-data switch company, InteCom. He was also affiliated
with AT&T and Sperry Univac in strategic planning, marketing and product
development.
Dr. Lee has consulted many hi-tech organizations such as Ameritech, Bell
Atlantic, AT&T, GTE, ITT, United Technologies, Acer, Hsin-Chu Science
Park of Taiwan, and Pudong Science Park of Shanghai. He was instrumental
in introducing venture capital to Taiwan and other countries in Asia.
He is a frequent speaker to many corporations, Asian-American associations
and venture capital industry conferences around the world. Dr. Lee is also
a guest lecturer in business schools in the United States such as Indiana
University, Oregon Graduate Institute and in Asia such as National University
of Singapore, National Taiwan University among others. Dr. Lee attended
National Taiwan University (BSCE) and the University of Minnesota (MSCE,
MSAE and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics).
