POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Microelectronics
Assembler
JOB SUMMARY: Position
responsible for the assembly of microelectronic components,
printed circuit boards comprised of surface mount and
open die packaging styles.
REPORTS TO: Director
of Engineering
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Component placement on circuits with use of resistance
welding equipment.
- Assemble circuits to carrier plates using hot plate
soldering methods
- Assembly of printed circuit boards with surface
mount and through hole technologies.
- Placement of open die packages / components using
conductive and non conductive epoxies.
- Completes all necessary time, defect and production
paperwork as prescribed.
- Implement rework instructions that may involve resistance
welding, wire bonding , die attachment and or printed
circuit boards
- Perform cleaning of soldered circuits using Ultrasonic
or other cleaning methods.
- Performs top level assembly of microwave modules
comprised of multiple microelectronic sub-assemblies.
- Perform other duties as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High school diploma / GED
- Experience: 2-4 yrs exp. In assembly of surface
mount and microelectronics components required.
- Skills: Use of soldering iron, resistance welding
equipment, and wedge or ball bonding equipment. Speak
and interpret English language. Must be able to read
and interpret bill of materials and assembly drawings
commonly used in assembly of microelectronic and printed
circuit board manufacturing.
- Physical: Able to perform assembly tasks under microscope
for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift
and carry 10 lbs.
