POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Microwave
Test Technician / Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: To test
and document evaluation modules and demonstration systems
designed to support the sale of the company's range
of MMICs, at frequencies up to 43GHz.
To assist in the testing, tuning, and qualification
of the company's new MMIC products.
To assist in testing, qualifying, and fault-finding
of new and existing microwave modules manufactured in
the company's module business.
REPORTS TO: Director
of Engineering
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design test strategies and associated hardware for
use in MMIC evaluation modules and demonstration systems.
MMIC function blocks to be tested include LNAs, HPAs,
Mixers, Receivers, Upconverters, and Oscillators.
- Carry out prototype and pre-production testing of
the MMIC modules
- Prepare manufacturing and testing documentation
for the MMIC modules.
- Assist in the design of RF and biasing circuits
for use in the MMIC modules. Create and test working
prototypes of these designs.
- Provide ongoing engineering support to the testing
of MMICs using the wafer probing station.
- Work closely with Manufacturing when releasing new
products into production which may include, training,
writing of test specs, interface with purchasing and
assisting in any process or quality issues.
- Follow all design guidelines laid down in the Company
quality manual which includes conducting design reviews.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Engineering
Director.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Associate Degree, BSEE, or equivalent
(preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 year's experience in the testing
and qualifying of MMICs and/or microwave modules up
to a frequency of 43GHz.
- Skills: Ability to use computer aids such as AutoCad,
Orcad. Be familiar with standard microwave test equipment,
for example Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers,
Signal Generators, Noise Figure Meters.
- Physical: Good health. Able to carry out job functions
as descried above. Able to work at a computer for
extended periods of time.
